Food Festival Weald and Downland

The very best of the south east’s produce – from heritage production methods to the modern day – will be showcased at our special spring event.

Enjoy free cookery demonstrations and short talks, shop from vendors selling local produce, watch demonstrations and crafts, learn about historic food and drink in our collection of rescued historic houses, plus much more. There will be lots of tasty samples to try before you buy!

What’s on?

Slake Gin talk: Are all GINs created equal?

Tom will be giving a short talk on Saturday 5th May about different GIN production methods and how they influence the taste and character of GINs with a tasting flight to accompany it.

Guest Chef: River Cottage’s Gill Meller

Gill Meller will join us in our Cookery Theatre for  cooking demonstrations on the afternoons of Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May 2018.

Gill is a chef, food writer, author, food stylist and cookery teacher. He lives near the small fishing town of Lyme Regis, in Dorset. His cooking is a reflection of his surroundings. He takes inspiration from the landscape, his locality, and the amazing farmers, growers and fisherman that produce the ingredients he uses.
